Dr. Lisa Cox Romain
Ph.D., LMFT, LPCC, NCC, SAP, RYT 

Dr. Lisa Cox Romain is an experienced mental healthcare provider and organizational psychologist with over 30 years experience helping individuals, couples, families and corporations achieve goals that lead to success. Her educational background includes degrees in Psychology, Educational Counseling, Organizational Management and Development, Couples and Family Therapy and a PhD degree in Organizational Psychology.  Dr. Lisa also holds licenses as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor, is a National Certified Counselor, Certified Domestic Violence Counselor and a Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional.  Dr. Lisa is a yoga instructor, CAMFT CEU Provider, CAMFT Certified Supervisor, Prepare/Enrich Certified Facilitator and Level 2 Trained in Gottman Methods Couples Therapy.

 

She is the president and CEO of Cox Romain Psychological Services, LLC, a counseling and corporate consulting company, founder and executive director of New Beginnings and New Hope, a non-profit organization serving those impacted by domestic violence, substance use, child abuse and CRW Divorce Mediation in Murrieta. Dr. Lisa is also a counselor and professor at Palomar College, and an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix and Pepperdine University. She is the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) Board Past President and previous CAMFT Board Secretary and Pre-Licensed Board Director-At-Large, California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC) Ethics Committee member, Academic Senate for California Community Colleges (ASCCC) Faculty Development Committee member and the Coalition Against Domestic Violence of Orange County (CADVOC) Parliamentarian. Dr. Lisa is an Orange County Probation Department Batterers Intervention Program (BIP) and Child Abusers Treatment (CAT) approved provider, a Riverside County Domestic Violence approved treatment provider and offers Anger Management and Substance Abuse services. Her research, counseling, therapy and corporate consulting have been the foundation for book chapters, blogs, magazine articles, podcasts and publications.
